Disney CEO Bob Iger stated that the company would prefer to remain in the Indian market despite Disney+ Hotstar losing 2.8 million members in the quarter that concluded on September 30.
In India, Disney+ Hotstar has 37.6 million users in Q3, compared to 40.4 million users in Q2.
Following the release of the quarterly results late on Wednesday, Iger remarked in an interview with analysts that “our linear business actually does quite well” in India.
Indeed, it is profitable. However, we are aware that there are obstacles in other areas of that industry for both us and other people. We’re looking at what I’d term an expensive property,” he informed analysts.
